The Foundation of Service

Bodhi's humanitarian work flows through two interconnected organizations— one rooted in the Himalayas serving India's most vulnerable, the other extending that compassion globally through fellowship and support.

"My vision is to see communities thriving on the principles of self-help and dignity— growing together with deep feelings of fellowship, creating wealth and sharing it with a heart free of malice for anyone and love for all. A community founded on cooperation, not competition."

— Bodhi Shuddhaanandaa Brahmachari, Founder

Deeply moved by the kindness and joy he encountered among Calcutta's impoverished communities, Bodhi left academia in 1985 to establish the Lokenath Divine Life Mission in the Himalayas. What began as a single vision has grown into a movement—serving thousands of families across rural Bengal, empowering women through self-help groups, providing healthcare to those without access, and nurturing children through education.

In 1991, he founded the Lokenath Divine Life Fellowship in the United States to extend this mission globally, ensuring that compassionate service transcends borders, supporting humanitarian work while spreading teachings of mindfulness, fellowship, and inner peace.
